Defeat Duchenne Canada: Launched 2024-2028 Strategic Plan at 2024 Annual General Meeting

June 3, 2024

Defeat Duchenne Canada proudly announces the launch of its 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, revealed at the 2024 Annual General Meeting on June 3, 2024. This comprehensive plan outlines the organization’s future direction with clarity and purpose, reaffirming the vision, mission, and core values that guide Defeat Duchenne Canada’s efforts to create a future without Duchenne.

The strategic plan identifies the key pillars of focus—Research, Advocacy, Education and Support, and Community Engagement—ensuring that Defeat Duchenne Canada’s work remains aligned with goals and making a lasting impact in the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

“We will remain focused on our four strategic pillars: Research, Advocacy, Education/Support, and Community Engagement. The results of our strategic survey showed that our families continue to understand the value and importance of research but also increasingly understand the critical role Defeat Duchenne Canada can play in Advocacy.”

“As this is a relatively newer area for the organization, you will see that we intend to increase our focus and impact in this key pillar over the next few years.”

Lisa McCoy, Chief Executive Officer of Defeat Duchenne Canada.

The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan details specific tactics and actions to achieve the outlined objectives, including anticipated milestones that will mark the progress made over the next four years and beyond.
