Angie Stewart September 1 1962 – October 18 2017

Defeat Duchenne Canada has lost a dear friend.

Angie Stewart was the wife of Ron (Sam) and mother of 2 boys: Steven (who had Duchenne muscular dystrophy and passed away in 2009) and Matthew.

Angie was a beautiful person and an inspiration to everyone she met. Her positive attitude and wonderful, almost constant smile is something we will always remember.

Angie and the Stewart family, along with so many other family and friends, joined us for our Walk to Defeat Duchenne every May. Even after Steven’s passing, the entire family would turn out wearing their own T-shirts honouring Steven and they would do the walk start to finish, rain (snow) or shine. Angie did this even in recent years, when her health was clearly failing.

Our deepest sympathy to Sam and Matthew on the loss of your wife and mother who was such a bright light in so many lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.
