Understanding and Managing Behaviour in DMD
Dr. Natalie Truba, Clinical Psychologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio discussed the emotional, behavioural and cognitive challenges commonly experienced by boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and manifesting girl carriers. In her presentation, Truba provides a broad overview of strategies to help better manage challenging behaviours. She also reviewed insights regarding the impact of COVID-19 and identifies strategies for adaptive coping during the pandemic.
