Advocacy Summit

As the leading organization for Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Canada, we understand the urgency of ensuring timely access to affordable treatments for all those affected. It’s time to unify our voices, build awareness, and advocate for change.

While there have been seven medications approved in Europe and the United States for Duchenne, Canada lags behind in providing access to these life-changing treatments. This disparity is unacceptable, and together, we can make a difference.

We urge you to lend your support and become an Advocacy Ambassador. By volunteering, you will be part of our team working to ensure that all Duchenne treatments deemed safe and effective receive approval and accessibility in Canada.

To kick-start our collective efforts, we will host an Advocacy Summit in Ottawa, Ontario, from Sunday, November 5 to Monday, November 6, 2023. Sunday will focus on uniting passionate individuals affected by Duchenne, like you, to strategize, share experiences, and develop a powerful action plan. Monday will be our Hill Day, focusing on meeting with Members of Parliament and government officials who can help us move the needle in treatment accessibility and affordability.
