Welcome our new Managing Director
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Wendy Sanderson-Culley as the new Managing Director of Defeat Duchenne Canada. Rick Moss will continue in a new transitional role at the Journey office until December 2016 and will be working on special projects with the staff team.
Wendy brings more than 16 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector to this role. She is the past Executive Director at the Learning Disabilities Association of London Region, where she guided the agency and board through a year of extensive change and transition.
As a former Senior Development Officer with the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, Wendy’s focus was on planned giving, major gifts, and increasing support for both mental health and the Ivey Eye Institute. She also played a key role in the development and launch of the Foundation’s first Breakfast of Champions event, with guest speaker Margaret Trudeau.
Wendy received her designation as a Certified Fundraising Executive in 2011, one of only 757 in Canada. She is a past member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and Board member/Mentorship Co-ordinator with the London and Region Fundraising Executives. Wendy is also a proud member of the Up With People International Alumni organization.
